Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a Temporary full-time Volunteer Coordinator to support the Christmas Campaign. You will work with the Campaign and Toy Drive teams to recruit, onboard and deploy volunteers across roles such as intake, sorting, toy centre, distribution, and greeter duties.

Responsibilities include creating volunteer schedules, training sessions, keeping communications open, tracking hours, and assisting with logistics for a successful campaign.

Qualifications

Completed High School or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience in community-based programs would be an asset.
Experience with general office equipment and Microsoft Word/Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

Recruit volunteers through postings and community networks.
Onboard volunteers and conduct orientations/training.
Schedule and supervise volunteers across activities.
Serve as main point of contact for volunteers.
Maintain communications via email, phone, and in-person.
Support Toy Centre setup, hamper distribution, and site organization.
Track volunteer hours and report outcomes.
Assist with registration and donations pickup as needed.
