Job summary

The Salvation Army in Ottawa is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Toy Mountain to oversee day-to-day campaign activities and ensure yearly objectives are met. You will manage staff and volunteers, coordinate with community partners, and ensure safe, efficient toy handling from reception to packing.

Responsibilities include recruitment/training, scheduling, inventory control and cross-team collaboration with the Director of Community Services. Ontario G license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in campaign operations and supervision of paid/unpaid staff is an asset.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervision experience is an asset.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with email and internet-based tools.
• Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean abstract dated within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow campaign manual and create an efficient floor plan for admin, sorting, setup, receiving and packing toys.
• Collaborate on procurement of items like tables, draping, bags, labels and cages.
• Lead recruitment/training for Toy Mountain workers and volunteers with safety in mind.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules with Ottawa Booth Centre and supplement staff schedules.
• Act as first contact with partners; coordinate toy pickups and PR needs during the campaign.
• Direct staff/volunteers on daily tasks: inventory, sorting, packing and replenishment.
• Address community concerns and escalate to Public Relations as needed.
• Complete weekly timesheets and campaign documentation for payroll approvals.
• Coordinate post-campaign handoff and data for evaluation.
