About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Technician, Electronics is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mobile telecommunications systems such as Wi-Fi network, LoRaWAN, LTE, two-way radios, camera systems, mobile equipment monitoring connectivity, shovel payload systems, GPS, collision avoidance systems and other similar systems to maintain mine operations.

This role follows a 4x4 days schedule with 12-hour shifts; however, is subject to change depending on operational requirements.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who can work effectively between departments to gather information on operational priorities and make necessary repairs efficiently. This person works well independently and collaborates successfully with a team. The role requires an individual to have both strong hands on skills and computer diagnostics abilities. The ability to learn and support new technologies as introduced is required.

In this role you will
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Install and maintain network equipment including: Wi-Fi network, LoRaWAN, LTE, GPS and two-way radios
  • Install and maintain monitoring equipment including: ruggedized equipment computers, camera systems, shovel payload systems, digital level/flow meters, In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems and collision avoidance systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections/service of critical assets
  • Perform computer-based troubleshooting of network assets
  • Develop best practices, job procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician with relevant experience
  • Experience with set-up, tuning, and adjusting radios, repeaters, and antennas
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Wi-Fi network, LoRaWAN, LTE, two-way radios, camera systems, mobile equipment monitoring connectivity, shovel payload systems, GPS, collision avoidance systems
  • Strong digital proficiency, with an emphasis on computer-based troubleshooting
  • Mining experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License

$83,000 - $103,000 a year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
