Located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, we are seeking a Technician, Accounts Payable. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Overview: Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Technician plays a vital role in supporting financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, compliance with policies and deadlines, and contributing to process improvements.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Review and verify invoices for accuracy, authorization, and compliance.
2. Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts prior to payment.
3. Process invoices into the accounting system and update payment records.
4. Schedule and execute timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
5. Handle checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
6. Serve as the main contact for vendor inquiries regarding payments and discrepancies.
7. Maintain vendor contact and payment records.
8. Resolve vendor issues such as discrepancies or missing invoices.
9. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and outstanding balances.
10. Prepare management reports on payment schedules and vendor aging.
11. Ensure proper record filing and archiving for audits.
12. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
13. Prepare and review accruals for unpaid invoices.
14. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations.
15. Identify opportunities to optimize payment terms and reduce costs.
16. Recommend improvements to streamline AP processes.
17. Stay updated on technological advancements to enhance AP efficiency.

Your skills include:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Discretion handling sensitive financial information.
• Good communication skills for vendor and internal interactions.

Your profile:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
