Reporting To

Field Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of medium to high complexity according to work instructions and ABB guidelines. You will deliver excellent customer service, identify opportunities in the installed base to improve system and operational performance, and work remotely. This position contributes to the Electrification Service division in Tempe, AZ.

You will be mainly responsible for:

  • Providing knowledge of and conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE, ABB Way, and Safety policies.
  • Executing projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switchgear, OCBs, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and power management controls.
  • Leading outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, managing project documentation, and reporting.
  • Planning and performing multifunctional field assignments, directing work of team members as needed.
  • Expanding technical knowledge and industry standards.
  • Developing and delivering internal and external training programs.
  • Completing administrative tasks like technical reports, material orders, quotations, and expense reports accurately and timely.
  • Controlling costs and safeguarding company assets.
  • Working with customers and internal teams to identify new service opportunities, develop proposals, and execute work scopes.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Technical skills in testing and repairing power distribution equipment, including LV and MV circuit breakers, relays, and transformers (OEM experience preferred).
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage machines and controls systems is a plus.
  • Up to 75% domestic travel; valid driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the area.
  • No visa sponsorship available; must have legal work authorization in the US.
