Overview

Sectra Canada is seeking a Technical Engineer (3-5 years' experience) to design, deploy, and support critical systems in healthcare IT, focused on PACS/enterprise imaging and interoperability to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage and resolve technical support cases logged in the ServiceDesk system, ensuring accurate documentation of actions, solutions, and system changes.
  • Escalate unresolved or highly complex issues to senior engineers or specialized teams, as appropriate.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and distributors to gather technical information, clarify system behavior, and communicate updates throughout the resolution process.
  • Perform independent installation and configuration of Windows-based servers, MS SQL Server instances, enterprise applications, and Active Directory integrations within Sectra’s imaging environment.
  • Configure and support Microsoft Azure cloud-based deployments for healthcare IT systems, ensuring proper setup, scalability, and adherence to security standards.
  • Independently implement integrations between Sectra’s solutions and external healthcare systems, including EMRs, RIS, HIS, and AI tools, using standard-based interfaces (DICOM, HL7, IHE) and custom APIs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve interoperability issues involving imaging workflows, system connectivity, and data exchange protocols.
  • Serve as a technical resource in diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to system performance, configuration, and integrations.
  • Maintain and continuously expand knowledge of Sectra’s product suite, including software applications, hardware infrastructure, and associated services.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in key technical areas as needed to support projects or customer requirements.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in English (French is an asset).
  • A degree in computer engineering, health informatics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced IT environment; 2-3 years in healthcare IT, technical support, or system administration.
  • Working knowledge of PACS/RIS, HL7/DICOM standards, and clinical workflows.
  • Experience with Windows Server, MS SQL, Active Directory, and VMware.
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell or Python) and cloud environments like Microsoft Azure is an asset.
  • A passion for service excellence and exceptional customer service.
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced work setting.
Compensation & Benefits

Our salary range for this role falls between CAD 85,600 and 108,600. The final salary offer depends on factors including experience, specific skills, education, certifications, and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and perks:
