The Northwest CYSN team is an established, collaborative, and highly supportive virtual team serving communities across Northern British Columbia. Comprised of a Team Leader and six experienced social workers, the team works closely with a wide range of partners, including schools, healthcare providers, Indigenous communities, and other ministry service areas, to support children, youth, and families with support and special needs. Team members are known for their willingness to share knowledge, ask thoughtful questions, and step in to support one another, creating a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Despite working virtually across a large geographic region, the team maintains strong connections and a shared commitment to delivering coordinated, compassionate services that help improve outcomes and quality of life for the families they serve.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support vulnerable children, youth, and families by providing both administrative and social work assistance to the Northwest CYSN team. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, maintaining files and records, supporting care planning activities, communicating with families and service providers, participating in Integrated Case Management meetings, and connecting families with community and provincial resources. The position plays an important part in ensuring families receive timely information, services, and supports that contribute to their well-being now and in the future. This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Children and Family Development offices: Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Fort. ST. James, Smithers, Houston, Hazelton, Dease Lake, Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
