Role Overview

Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Support Group Facilitator is responsible for the key leadership of a local ALS or PLS support group. Groups provide an open, friendly, and safe environment for ALS/PLS patients, family members and/or caregivers to discuss issues related to living with ALS/PLS.

Qualifications
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal (English)
  • Thorough understanding of group dynamics and process
  • Able to work independently, and in small groups
  • Organized
  • Excellent personal boundaries and ethics
  • Able to maintain confidentiality & respect the individual needs of group members
  • Comfort & knowledge using a computer and Email
  • Experience facilitating small groups
