Software Verification and Validation Specialist
Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Software Verification and Validation Specialist, where you will execute verification and validation activities for avionics systems in accordance with DO-178C DAL-D/C guidelines. This role involves developing, reviewing, and maintaining test cases and procedures based on system and software requirements, as well as performing dry runs and formal verification campaigns to ensure compliance with certification plans. You will also execute manual and automated tests, detecting and reporting software issues effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Execute software verification and validation activities for avionics systems under DO-178C DAL-D/C guidelines.
  • Develop, review, and maintain test cases and test procedures based on system and software requirements.
  • Perform dry runs and formal verification campaigns, ensuring compliance with certification plans.
  • Execute manual and automated tests, detect and report software issues.
Essential Skills
  • Experience writing test cases and test procedures compliant with the DO-178C compliance standard (3+ years).
  • Hands‑on experience with manual and automated testing for embedded Linux systems (3+ years).
  • Proficiency in Robot Framework, using Python scripting, or similar test frameworks (3+ years).
  • Experience with requirements management tools and defect tracking using DOORS and Jira or similar software (1+ year).
  • Eligibility to receive a CGP and a Reliability Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in telecommunication or avionics systems.
  • Exposure to DAL-D/C projects and certification artifacts.
Work Environment

This position offers a primarily remote work environment, with the requirement to visit the client’s workplace in Ottawa during critical project phases. Candidates should reside in the Ottawa region. Those in Ottawa will work remotely, with occasional visits to a facility in Ottawa. Those in Montreal will work two days per week at the center, with occasional visits to the Ottawa facility, especially in the first three months. The role includes a comprehensive benefits package with a budget for training and certifications, and access to senior‑level talent for mentorship and learning.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Kanata, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
