Position Summary

The Software Test/V&V specialist will be responsible for executing software verification and validation activities, while maintaining the associated documentation and processes. The incumbent will have the opportunity to support a variety of client projects throughout their career. The first project they will support involves state‑of‑the‑art satellite systems.

This position is primarily remote but will require some on‑site presence at our customer’s location in Ottawa.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Execute software verification and validation activities for avionics systems under DO-178C DAL‑D/C guidelines
• Develop, review, and maintain test cases and test procedures based on system and software requirements
• Perform dry runs and formal verification campaigns, ensuring compliance with certification plans
• Execute manual and automated tests, detect and report software issues

Education and experience (required)

• Experience writing test cases and test procedures compliant with the DO-178C compliance standard (3+ years)
• Hands‑on experience with manual and automated testing for embedded Linux systems (3+ years)
• Proficiency in Robot Framework, using Python scripting, or similar test frameworks (3+ years)
• Experience with requirements management tools and defect tracking using DOORS and Jira or similar software (1+ year)
• The candidate must be eligible to receive Canadian Controlled Goods Clearance.
• Work will be primarily remote, but candidates must be available to visit the client’s workplace in Ottawa when required, especially during critical project phases such as dry runs, formal verification, and workshops.

Assets (nice to haves)

• Prior experience in telecommunication or avionics systems
• Exposure to DAL‑D/C projects and certification artifacts
