Job Description

The Skilled Laborer - Equipment at CapWest will play a vital role in ensuring cleanliness, basic maintenance and efficient delivery of our rental equipment fleet.


The Skilled Laborer - Equipment provides hands‑on support in handling, transporting, and setting up rental equipment. They will ensure the equipment is clean, checked for proper operation and ready for customer use. The role involves physical tasks such as pressure washing, painting, loading, unloading, and assisting with delivery and collection at customer locations. The successful candidate also upholds safety standards and collaborates with team members to ensure efficient and smooth rental operations, contributing to positive customer experience.


Onsite work will be required to inspect, clean and handover our equipment from one customer to another and to assist with Formwork operations as required.


Some flexibility with working hours will be required to meet the needs of the business.

What You Will Do


  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting rental equipment and materials

  • Operate a wide range of rental equipment, forklifts and have a knowledge of tools

  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of rental equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspections, painting and minor repairs on rental tools and equipment.

  • Support team members in various tasks related to rental and formwork operations.

  • Travel to sites as required to handover and perform basic maintenance of rental equipment

  • Use company vehicles to deliver rental equipment and material as requested

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all work

  • Assist in the setup and teardown of equipment for rental customers

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly

  • The ability to lift 50lbs and carry out repetitive manual tasks in a sometimes-harsh outdoor environment

  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks set by your manager for the benefit of the company


What You Bring


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Forklift experience

  • Experience using power and hand tools

  • Experience in Smartsheet or Texada an asset

  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and team members

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Have the legal right to work in Canada


Salary Range

$25-$27 per hour
