The Salvation Army in Canada seeks a Shelter Worker to represent the organization at Evergreen Shelter & Apartments, providing guests with a safe, supportive environment and ensuring respectful, professional conduct.

You will handle admissions, routine rule enforcement, and daily duties such as meal service, cleaning, and basic safety checks, while adhering to mission values and policies.

Formación

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Food Safe Level 1 certification.
• First Aid Level 1 certification.
• A valid Driver's License and clean driving abstract (required for some positions).
• Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
• Criminal Records Check to be done at hire.

Responsabilidades

• Reads HIFIS and Staff to Staff notes at the beginning of each shift.
• Handles the admission, orientation and evaluation of clients' understanding of rules; ensures ongoing enforcement of policies.
• May serve as Receptionist for Shelter answering phones promptly and as necessary.
• Monitor the activities of the clients/residents and maintain availability for personal, practical and morale support; may include providing safe storage of prescribed medications.
• May assist with meal prep, coffee service, clean-up and serving.
• Completes cleaning duties as assigned.
• Participate in scheduled job-related training as required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Provides appropriate assistance to guests when required.
