Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is hiring a Residential Worker B to deliver Emergency, Transitional and Supportive Housing services. You will maintain a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors, supervise clients, and handle required documentation and meals.

Required is a High School diploma and 1–2 year certificate in Social Services, with 1–2 years of related experience. Training includes WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, and Vulnerable Sector checks.

Qualifications

• High School completion required.
• 1–2 year certificate in Social Services or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience in social services preferred.
• Equivalent combinations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, secure environment for staff, residents and visitors.
• Monitor clients to ensure safety and adherence to rules.
• Supervise clients and maintain shelter logs and paperwork.
• Perform shift-change procedures and basic building maintenance.
• Assist with conflict resolution and food preparation for meals.
• Provide intake, orientation and referrals to community resources.
