Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring a Residential Worker B to provide a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors, delivering Emergency, Transitional and Supportive Housing services. You will monitor clients, maintain logs, and assist with intake and referrals to community resources.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1–2 year certificate in Social Services, and 1–2 years of relevant experience working with marginalized individuals. WHMIS and first aid certifications are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 year certificate in a Social Services field.
  • 1–2 years of related experience with marginalized individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, respectful environment for staff and residents.
  • Monitor client behaviour and ensure safety and policy adherence.
  • Prepare meals and handle shelter logistics as needed.
  • Complete shift-change procedures and document logs.
  • Assist with intake, orientation, and referrals to community resources.
  • Assist with household maintenance and supplies.
