Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a Shelter Worker for Evergreen Shelter & Apartments in Campbell River. You will provide a safe and supportive environment for shelter guests, residents and visitors, handling admissions, orientations and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Food Safe Level 1 certification.
• First Aid Level 1 certification.
• A valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Willingness to undergo required background checks.
• Criminal Records Check to be completed at hire.

Responsibilities

• Reads intake notes at the start of each shift and enforces policies.
• Admits and orients clients and monitors adherence to rules.
• May serve as Receptionist for Shelter duties.
• Monitor resident activities and provide practical and morale support.
• Assist with meal prep, serving and clean-up.
