Job Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you will operate on-site to perform preventative maintenance, repair equipment, and install replacement parts related to RYKO, MacNeil, Belanger, and competitor's vehicle wash equipment and accessories. The Service Technician will also train customers on basic equipment maintenance.
Job Duties
- Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective action
- Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary
- Inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels as applicable, following preventative maintenance contracts
- Run equipment through cycles to ensure proper functioning
- Advise customers on necessary service work and recommend replacements for worn or damaged parts
- Inspect equipment post-installation for proper operation
- Provide training to customers on operation and maintenance of equipment
- Develop and maintain good rapport with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers as needed
- Complete work orders, expense reports, and time logs
- Stay updated on equipment changes through manuals, service bulletins, videos, and engineering documents
- Maintain inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse, reporting levels as required
- Report significant issues or progress to Service and District Manager
- Comply with safety and regulatory laws and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as a Service Technician or related role
- Clean driving record with limited violations and accidents
- No recent impaired driving convictions or pending charges
- Basic math and writing skills
- Interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work
- Ability to interpret manuals and instructions
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Forklift experience or certification preferred
- Customer-focused with good communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft and Google Suite
- Good vision to read technical documents
- Availability for overtime and local to the GTA
Physical Requirements
- Lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and standing for long periods
Additional Details
Hourly wage: $25-31, based on experience.
Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with rotating weekends.
