Field Service Technician/Engineer (BC/Alberta)

Job Overview

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role involves planning and executing complex technical field assignments, including installation, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and repair of High Voltage Circuit Breakers and other High Voltage equipment up to 800kV. Coordination with other teams is essential to meet commitments, primarily on remotely operated maintenance and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute complex field assignments involving high voltage equipment up to 800kV.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade services both remotely and on-site.
  • Support and exceed customer expectations proactively.
  • Identify and resolve electrical or mechanical issues independently.
  • Develop new sales and business opportunities.
  • Suggest product and process improvements to enhance operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage field service projects, providing leadership and analysis.
  • Work flexibly in diverse environments and schedules.
  • Operate advanced field service test equipment.
  • Conduct tests, analyze data, and resolve operational issues.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanics and Electrical fields; a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years in technical field service work.
  • Experience with high voltage equipment up to 800kV.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing and circuit breaker maintenance.
  • Experience working with Power Utilities.
  • Leadership experience in electrical projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and test equipment software.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.
