This position supports the Bulk Elemental Analysis (BEA) business unit, which helps customers accelerate production, improve product quality, make faster process decisions, and protect their brands. Bulk Elemental Analysis (BEA)

With over 85 years at our Ecublens site in Switzerland, we are a leading global supplier of spectrochemical instruments for industries like metallurgy, transportation, cement, mining, food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petroleum, and batteries. Our capabilities include optical emission spectroscopy (OES), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and spectrometer automation (SMS).

What will you do?

You will provide comprehensive services on Spectroscopy instruments: OES, XRF, and XRD, including installation, repairs, preventative maintenance, and qualifications. You will engage with customers and collaborate with team members, sales, technical support, and engineering.

  • Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of spectroscopy systems.
  • Manage service calls, control parts inventories, and document work using customer management software.
  • Inspect malfunctioning products, analyze issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service.
  • Develop and deliver training on equipment operation and safety for team members and customers.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • High school diploma with 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer or Technical Support Engineer working with analytical instrumentation, especially OES, XRF, and XRD, or a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, or related field with less experience.

Proficiencies

  • Customer-oriented.
  • Technical knowledge of scientific or related equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize requests and produce clear documentation.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision.

Travel & Physical/Environmental requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 70% within the territory or as needed.
  • Physical activities include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance occasionally, and 25-30 lbs continuously.
  • Work environment includes office settings, travel, and customer locations with potential hazards.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
