Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead construction management from pre-construction through completion in Canada. You will coordinate with the Superintendent, design teams, and stakeholders to ensure design alignment, scheduling, and budget control.

The role requires long-term leadership, ability to mentor a large team, manage client relations, and maintain project cash flow. Primary location is Edmonton with project work in Moose Jaw or Winnipeg; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in ICI or Civil construction and 8+ years in a PM role
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, contracts, and project management
• Ability to mentor a large team and maintain client relations
• Based in or willing to operate from Edmonton for pre-construction and primary project locations Moose Jaw or Winnipeg

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion with the Superintendent
• Prepare regular, timely billings and ensure prompt subcontractor payments
• Meet with Owners and Architects, communicating concerns and company interests
• Monitor and forecast cost reports to align with estimates and cash flow
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and escalate risks as needed
• Oversee a team and create opportunities for career development

You as a Senior Project Manager Will

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent
• Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings
• Meet with Owners and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
• Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated
• Oversee a team and create opportunities for career development

Is this the right role for you?

• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in ICI or Civil construction; minimum of 8 years in a Project Manager position
• Working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software
• Ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations
• Required to be in Edmonton, Alberta for Pre-Construction and primary project location to be either in Moose Jaw, SK or Winnipeg, MB
