Job summary

EllisDon in Cold Lake, AB is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project planning and field coordination on our construction sites. You will assist in plan and specification analysis, manage RFIs, submittals, and scheduling to help deliver projects on time and under budget.

The ideal candidate holds a construction-related degree and at least three years of experience, with knowledge of scheduling, contracts, and subcontractor management. CSID secret clearance eligibility is required.

• Construction-related degree and minimum three years of construction experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in scheduling, project management and contract software.
• Ability to support project team and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist in plan and specification analysis to provide clear interpretations of design/drawings.
• Prepare project deliverables: RFIs, submittals, and contracts; maintain expediting list.
• Develop and monitor construction schedule to deliver on time and under budget.
• Administer subcontracts and track changes and deliverables.
• Advise Construction Manager of potential problems and assist in resolution.

You As An Assistant Project Manager Will

• Assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
• Preparation of project deliverables including tracking and creating of RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals, composing agreements and maintaining project expediting list
• Develop, implement and monitor the construction schedule to deliver the project on time and under budget
• Administration and management of subcontracts including subcontractor compliance, tracking of changes and deliverables
• Advise Construction Manager of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving issues

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a construction related degree and a minimum of three years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• Experience with concrete & formwork scopes, especially on buildings projects, is an asset
• Experience with self-performed work with a General Contractor is an asset
• Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
• Ability to support the project team and help overcome problematic situations
• Project location: Cold Lake, AB
• Must have, or be eligible for, CSID (PWSGC) Secret Level Security Clearance
