Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Project Manager (Civil) in Calgary to oversee construction management from pre-construction through project completion, coordinating with the Superintendent and Owners. The role emphasizes design coordination, budgeting, and schedule management to maintain positive cash flow and successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a construction-related degree and 8+ years of Civil Infrastructure PM experience, with knowledge of scheduling, scopes, and contract software.

• Ability to lead and mentor a large team and maintain client relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion with design, coordination, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare regular, timely billings for Owners and ensure payment of subcontracts.
• Meet with Owners and Architects to communicate concerns and interests of the company.
• Monitor and forecast project costs to ensure alignment with estimates and cash flow.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to support team development.
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and escalate risks.

You As a Project Manager (Civil) Will

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent
• Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
• Meet with Owners and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
• Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a construction related degree/diploma and a minimum of 8 years of Civil Infrastructure construction experience working as a Project Manager or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience (Design Build and/or P3)
• You have a working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software
• You have the ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations
