Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Senior Power Development Engineer in Calgary to provide technical leadership and commercial support for wind, solar, BESS and natural gas projects across North America.

You will drive technical due diligence, develop design standards, and advance opportunities from screening to final investment decision, while collaborating across engineering, business development, and operations to ensure safe, reliable, and economically viable generation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in power sector and experience moving projects through development and construction.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng.).
• Experience with wind, solar, BESS, and natural gas projects and setting standards.
• Experience with gas power plant modelling tools or advanced Excel is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence and development activities for wind, solar, BESS, and natural gas generation projects.
• Develop asset specifications, design standards and technical requirements.
• Develop conceptual designs, execution strategies, and technical requirements for stage-gate process.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks; support economic evaluations and investment recommendations.
• Collaborate across Business Development, Engineering, Major Projects, Supply Chain and Operations.
• Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work; provide input during execution.
• Build relationships with developers, OEMs, EPCs, and industry stakeholders.
