Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks a Senior Engineer and Business Development Leader for the Thermal Power Generation line in the Canadian Prairies, including Calgary and surrounding markets.

You will drive BD strategy, manage key client relationships, and guide proposals with engineering and project delivery teams to secure contracts across new builds, refurbishments and energy transition efforts. Strong leadership and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or a related field; MBA an asset.
• Over 10 years of experience in business development, sales or client relationship management in thermal power generation, energy or industrial consulting.
• Established network among Canadian Prairies utilities, IPPs, cogeneration operators and asset owners.
• Comfortable contributing to technical discussions and supporting project management alongside BD duties.
• Proven track record of securing and growing contracts in professional engineering services.
• Ability to travel regularly within the Canadian Prairies and occasionally beyond.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Valid driver's licence.
• Asset: working knowledge of thermal power generation assets.
• Asset: working knowledge of French (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow BD activities for Thermal Power Generation across the Canadian Prairies.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with utilities, IPPs, cogeneration operators and industrial clients.
• Lead pursuit and proposal efforts with engineering, operations and delivery teams.
• Represent BBA in regional power generation sector events and associations.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory developments affecting thermal power generation.
• Support account planning and relationship management for strategic thermal power accounts.
• Mentor junior BD and marketing staff and contribute to marketing materials.
• Travel regularly within the Canadian Prairies and occasionally beyond.
