Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit with a remote-first team in Canada. We are seeking an App Infrastructure engineer to own technical strategy over a year and drive critical projects across product, design, and analytics.

You will advocate scalable RN solutions, maintainability, and operations, while guiding teammates with code reviews and architectural standards. You will collaborate across teams, stay current with native OS changes, and help build tooling to improve observability, testing, and

Qualifications

• You have 7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile apps and 4+ years with React Native.
• You are proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and have hands-on RN+Expo experience.
• You have authored or migrated native modules and components and performed RN SDK updates.
• You stay current with native OS releases and can debug JS-Native boundaries.
• You manage state effectively; Redux Toolkit is a bonus or helpful.</br>
• You can lead through ambiguity and drive large project execution with cross-functional peers.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon and align with business goals.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and risk awareness.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating technical solutions and processes.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring, on-call playbooks, and policies.
• Set code review and design standards and promote them beyond the team.
• Develop talent through feedback, mentoring, and leading by example.
