Job summary

Affirm's App Infrastructure team owns the shared mobile app platform, delivering scalable tooling and APIs used by all mobile teams. We are a small, technical, highly collaborative group that emphasizes ownership, runbooks, and writing specs before building.

The role targets a senior mobile engineer who can drive big features, mentor teammates, and stay ahead of Android/iOS updates while maintaining high quality across the stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, 4+ with React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/Typescript.
• Hands-on experience with React Native, Expo, and native modules.
• Experience with complex state management; Redux Toolkit is a bonus.
• Familiar with mobile testing and observability tooling.
• Experience delivering major features and driving large projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and align with business goals.
• Collaborate across product, design, and analytics to ensure sustainability and understood trade-offs.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and promoting technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own operations and availability with monitoring, runbooks, alerts, and on-call readiness.
• Establish and propagate code review and design standards across teams.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and leadership by example.
