Job summary

Affirm in Canada is seeking a senior software engineer to own quarterly goals, guide engineers through ambiguity, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics to deliver impactful mobile and backend features.

You will work across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), implement experimentation and analytics, and build web apps with React or Vue while designing scalable systems using Python, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading mobile initiatives and cross-functional launches.
• Experience across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin).
• Experience shipping web apps with React or Vue.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Backend systems design and scalable delivery with Python, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, guiding engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics to validate constraints and trade-offs.
• Identify and lead resolution of project, process, or tech issues.
• Maintain team artifacts with metrics and on-call readiness.
• Set and promote code design standards and best practices.
