Job summary

Stantec in Atlantic Canada is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer / Hydrologist to lead mine water management across the full project lifecycle, from environmental assessment to operations and long-term monitoring.

This role focuses on surface water, water balances, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and regulatory compliance, with mentorship of junior staff and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Occasional travel to project sites across Atlantic Canada is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences
• P.Eng./P.Geo. eligibility in Atlantic Canada
• 8–12 years in water resources with mining projects
• Experience with environmental assessments and permits
• Strong modeling of water balances

Responsibilities

• Lead mine water management across life cycle
• Deliver water balance models and reviews
• Direct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
• Oversee design of diversions, ponds, and drains
• Communicate findings to clients and regulators
