Job summary

Stantec seeks an Atlantic Discipline Leader for Mine Water in Atlantic Canada. The role focuses on shaping and growing mine water services across the region, including surface water management and integrated mine water systems.

You will lead technical direction, mentor teams, and influence standards while building long-term client relationships. The position involves office-based leadership with opportunities to travel to mine sites across Atlantic Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences or Engineering required.
• Professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) in an Atlantic Canadian province is required or eligible.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive mine water management experience, including consulting/operational mining.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for mine water management across all project phases.
• Lead development and review of integrated water balance models for maritime climates.
• Oversee design and evaluation of water management infrastructure (diversions, ponds, pumping systems, treatment).
• Support regulatory requirements with clear water management strategies.
• Mentor mine water professionals and develop future leaders.
• Contribute to technical standards and industry thought leadership.
