Job description

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Corporate FP&A and will work alongside key individuals in the finance function including the VP of FP&A, Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting and finance background, demonstrated analytical rigor and a keen interest in JDI’s operating businesses. This position is based at our Head Office location in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's University Degree or higher
  • 5-7 years of accounting and/or finance experience
  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong aptitude in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards, TM1 and/or Power BI considered an asset
  • A creative thinker with an aptitude for analyzing complex problems from multiple perspectives
  • Able to derive insights from data that can drive action in the organization
  • Capable of establishing strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders across various functions
  • Equipped with a strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Experienced with financial systems, forecasting and financial modeling
Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis and insights which guide company decisions related to funding, budget allocation, capital investments and strategic direction
  • Create impact by partnering with business leaders across the enterprise to analyze performance and solve unique problems
  • Present complex information in an impactful manner to a high-profile audience
  • Leverage best in class forecasting and visualization tools to surface valuable insights
  • Drive period review, annual budget and long-term plan processes and prepare related analytics
  • Continually track and update analyses for changing forecasts and capital plans
  • Play a key role on company-specific initiatives and analysis in coordination with business leads
  • Monitor and report on industry / market data relevant to finance team and business management
