The Opportunity

Your Impact Starts Here – Are you ready to tackle complex groundwater challenges and shape sustainable water futures across communities? In this Environmental Engineer (Waste) role, you’ll work with multidisciplinary experts, advancing environmental science on essential environmental projects.

Your Impact
  • Lead environmental compliance monitoring and reporting programs at landfill and contaminated sites.
  • Contribute to or lead the design, environmental assessment, permitting and construction administration of landfills, waste processing and transfer facilities.
  • Design and oversee field programs—including groundwater and surface water monitoring, landfill gas monitoring, and drilling and monitoring well installation supervision—to deliver high‑quality data and insights.
  • Liaise with clients, laboratories, and partners.
  • Prepare clear, defensible, data‑driven technical reports that influence waste management infrastructure and environmental management projects.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, engineers, ecologists, and planners to develop integrated solutions that support climate resilience and environmental stewardship.
  • Mentor junior engineers and hydrogeologists and contribute to the growth of our waste management practice across the region.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 7 – 15 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Degree in civil, environmental, or geological engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eligible for or currently holding a P.Eng. designation.
  • Experience working on projects within the solid waste sector, and familiarity with related environmental regulations.
  • Deep technical expertise built through hands‑on work in contaminant hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, contaminant transport, or related domains.
  • Strong experience conducting and overseeing environmental field programs, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve real‑world environmental, design, and permitting challenges across sectors such as waste, infrastructure, mining, or contaminated sites.
  • High comfort working in varied environments—from office analysis to field sites—with a commitment to safety.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing abilities.
  • Experience preparing landfill compliance monitoring reports.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in waste program planning and implementation including preparation of integrated waste management plans, recycling plans and waste diversion plans.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 – $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
