Senior Data Operations & BI Developer – Brantford, ON

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SSAS models to support enterprise data integration, reporting, and analytics requirements.
- Co‑lead the modernization of departmental reporting by designing and developing interactive Power BI dashboards, including KPI reports tailored for department managers, and collaborate with stakeholders to integrate data from multiple systems.
- Own and manage daily automated SSIS processes by monitoring performance, reporting issues, and resolving data‑related problems to ensure SLA compliance.
- Present and document complex data models, including historical data structures, to support transparency, maintainability, and knowledge transfer.
- Work closely with developers, business and system analysts to understand existing data models and develop ad hoc queries that fulfill business queries and reporting requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on data processes, including data dictionaries, workflow diagrams, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate transparency and knowledge transfer.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance checks on data to uphold integrity and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks associated with inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and develop solutions aligned with business needs.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve data processes and systems, leveraging new technologies and best practices to enhance data quality, efficiency, and reliability, driving continuous optimization across the organization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience delivering SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS solutions.
- Experience in managing SQL‑based solutions in Visual Studio, using version control tools such as SVN or GIT.
- Deep expertise in MS SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio, including:
- Advanced proficiency in T‑SQL for complex query development and debugging.
- Skilled in designing and maintaining database objects – tables, views, functions, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Experience with SQL Agent jobs (creation, scheduling, and troubleshooting).
- Familiarity with features like Change Data Capture, table partitioning, and indexing.
- Strong understanding of indexing, query optimization, and execution plan analysis to ensure efficient database performance and scalability.
- Strong competency in building and maintaining ETL workflows using SSIS and developing SSRS reports and SSAS multidimensional or tabular models to support enterprise analytics.
- Hands‑on experience with modern Microsoft data tools, including:
- Power BI for interactive dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics for scalable data orchestration and integration across multiple systems.
