Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist – Senior

Description

The Data Platform team provides solutions for designing and deploying Data and Cloud Infrastructure reliably, dynamically, and securely. The Data ecosystem includes, but is not limited to, Azure, Databricks, Github, Data Warehouses, ETL, Data Pipelines, Advanced Analytics, Reporting, and Data Analytics and Visualization. The capability is critical to enable the at-scale delivery of foundational technologies and cloud infrastructure solutions that underpin enterprise and customer solutions.

Data Mapping & Documentation

• Lead detailed data mapping activities between source systems, data platforms, and target destinations
• Document field‑level mapping, transformation rules, data lineage, and business logic.
• Ensure mappings align with enterprise data standards, governance rules, and architectural patterns.
• Maintain clear and version‑controlled mapping specifications for engineering teams.
• Analyze and profile datasets to understand data structures, quality issues, relationships, and anomalies.
• Validate that mapped data accurately represents business processes and stakeholder expectations.
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and risks during migration or integration projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with data engineers, architects, business analysts, product owners, and SMEs to gather requirements.
• Translate business definitions into technical mapping documentation.
• Facilitate workshops to resolve data ambiguities, clarify business rules, and align on mapping decisions.

Data Quality & Validation

• Support testing teams by providing validation rules and expected outputs for data transformations.
• Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems.
• Partner with data governance teams to improve data integrity, metadata accuracy, and documentation quality.

Reporting & Insights

• Build dashboards, reports, or analytics as needed to support business needs.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to self‑service analytics and standardized reporting frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
• Strong experience in data mapping, data modeling, or data migration projects.
• Proficiency in:
• SQL (intermediate to advanced)
• Data analysis and profiling techniques
• Excel or other analysis tools
• Data visualization tools (Power BI)
• Understanding of relational databases, structured data, and data integration patterns.
• Ability to interpret and document data transformation logic clearly.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
