Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build a next-generation reliability platform for production systems. You will blend distributed systems engineering with AI-assisted development to give teams a single place to understand, debug, and improve health of services.

This remote role is open to candidates in Canada and emphasizes ownership, reliability, and high-quality code in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale
• Experience shipping web apps with React or Vue
• Experience using AI/LLMs to automate and guide with guardrails and citations
• Ability to define a technical plan for delivering a significant feature or system component
• Proven ability to make significant changes in a large code base and build tools to support it
• Strong communication to collaborate with global teams

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics across the lifecycle
• Identify and lead solving project/process/tech issues
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts and on-call efforts
• Set or improve code review and design standards
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance
