Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking Container Terminal Security Officers to work at a Canada West port facility. You will perform static and mobile patrols, monitor CCTV and access controls, and ensure only authorized personnel enter secure areas while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

The role emphasizes adherence to Marine Transportation Security Regulations and detailed incident reporting, with growth opportunities and training through Paladin’s LMS.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Security Clearance.
• Valid BC Security License.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate inquiries, hazards, and traffic concerns.
• Patrol the facility regularly (static and mobile).
• Ensure only authorized entry to secure areas.
• Write detailed incident reports.
• Comply with Marine Transportation Security Regulations.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm panels.

Responsibilities

• Anticipating and addressing inquiries, hazards, obstacles, and traffic concerns


• Static and mobile patrolling the facility regularly


• Ensuring authorized entry to secure areas only


• Writing detailed incident reports


• Complying with the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.


• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to maintain site integrity and security


• Monitor CCTV, access control systems, and alarm panels

Qualifications

• Please note that applicants seeking employment at the terminal must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance as identified by the Marine Transportation Security Clearance Program.


• Valid BC Security License


• Basic First Aid or be willing to obtain it


• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada


• Security officers are subject to thorough background checks and security clearances, in addition to carrying a valid Security License.


• Good problem solving and decision-making skills, including working under pressure.


• Discretion when handling confidential and private information.


• Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
