Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking motivated individuals to start a career in security with no license required. We provide training and support to obtain the BC Security License, with education reimbursement through JIBC.

Join our team across hospitals, government buildings, campuses, shopping centers, offices and more. You’ll perform patrols, monitor CCTV, respond to alarms, write reports, and help keep our communities safe while you train toward certification.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); detailed incident reporting.
• Experience in customer service environment.
• Confident interacting with team members, client personnel, public and emergency services.
• Physical ability to stand and patrol for the majority of a shift.
• Comfort handling emergencies and de-escalation situations.
• Basic tech skills: writing reports, tracking via smartphone, two-way radio.

Responsibilities

• Colleges and Universities: conduct regular foot patrols, monitor CCTV, provide first aid, manage lost & found, write incident reports.
• Hospitals and Health Clinics: respond to alarms and emergencies, de-escalate as needed to protect healthcare workers and visitors.
• Mobile Division: respond to alarms, report security breaches, support Operations Centre Team.
• Government Buildings: patrols, monitor entrances, secure exits, respond to alarms.
• Shopping Centres: complete investigations, incident reports, patrols, interact with tenants and the public, lead in incidents involving violent individuals, conduct arrests, enforce mall rules, remove vagrants.

Paladin Security is excited to offer a unique opportunity for individuals interested in starting a career in security. We are currently seeking motivated and ambitious candidates who do not have a current valid BC Security License. This position is designed to provide required training and certifications to individuals who are not yet licensed, but are eager to enter the security industry. We will work with you to receive your training directly from the JIBC with our education reimbursement program.

We are currently looking for motivated teammates to join our various locations in hospitals, government buildings, post-secondary campuses, shopping centers, office towers, warehouses, and more!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Colleges and Universities: Our Officers at these facilities conduct regular foot patrols, monitor CCTV cameras, provide first aid, manage lost & found, write detailed incident reports, and more!
• Hospitals and Health Clinics: Our Officers respond to alarms, and emergency requests, while utilizing de-escalation skills in order to ensure the safety of our healthcare workers and visitors.
• Mobile Division: Our Mobile officers swiftly respond to alarms, report security breaches and property damage, and provide leadership in emergency situations, supporting our Operations Centre Team.
• Government Buildings: Our Officers at these facilities conduct regular patrols of the premises, monitor property entrance, authorize entrance of people, secure exits, respond to alarms and more!
• Shopping Centres: Our Officers at these facilities are responsible for completing investigations, incident reports and will be expected to perform constant patrols and interact with tenants and members of the public to provide direction and promote good customer service while providing a security presence. You will respond to all emergencies, take the lead role in all incidents involving violent individuals, conduct arrests, enforce mall rules, and remove vagrants from the property.

YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE:

• Legally Authorized to work in Canada
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); you will need to write detailed incident reports which may be utilized in court if subpoenaed
• Experience working or volunteering in a customer service environment
• Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
• A passion for being active, since your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, uneven surfaces, and parkades
• Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift
• Confidence approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
• A keen eye for watching and reporting irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations
• Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio

Many of our sites are accessible by transit, but it's an asset if you have your own vehicle and a Class 5 BC Driver's License! It's also an asset if you already have other related certifications or clearances, such as Basic First Aid.
