Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) seeks a reliable security professional to join our Gravenhurst team for an outdoor-site assignment. You will escort contractors, patrol the property, observe tools and vehicles, and maintain daily logs while upholding client standards.

Must hold an Ontario Security Guard License, WSIB First Aid and CPR, and be eligible for a Reliability (Level I) security clearance. Fluency in English is required; French is an asset. Training provided and 9–12 month contract.

Qualifications

• Ontario Security Guard License is required.
• WSIB First Aid and CPR certificate required.
• Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance requires 5 years of residency in Canada.
• PPE (hard hat and safety boots) may be required.
• Must be able to communicate in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Escort contractors as required.
• Observe contractors' tools and vehicles for safety near inmates.
• Ensure contractors comply with regulations.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, visitors, and clients.
• Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols; outdoor work predominates.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
  • Escorting contractors as required
    
  • Observe contactor tools and vehicles to make sure they are kept safely away from the inmates
    
  • Ensuring contractors adhere to the regulations
    
  • Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
    
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
    
  • Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
    
  • Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary
    
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the property
    
  • Job duties primarily take place outdoors
    
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
    
  • Duration of contract dependant on construction (estimated period 9 months to 1 year)
