Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to join our Scarborough site and deliver front-line security services including access control, patrols and incident response. You will monitor CCTV, perform logs and reports, and ensure client property remains secure with a professional demeanor.

Requirements include a valid Ontario Security Guard license, First Aid/CPR, and ability to stand long periods and lift 11 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Ability to stand for long periods and complete frequent patrols.
• Strong understanding of computers.
• Strong communication skills.
• Customer service/reception/administrative skills.
• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client.
• Able to use Microsoft Programs such as Word Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Control access and secure client property; escort visitors as required.
• Monitor CCTV equipment.
• Complete shipping and receiving duties, including shipment audits and trailer inspections.
• Maintain positive attitude and professional relationships with employees, visitors, and client.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
• Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels.
• Provide assistance to employees, clients, and visitors.
• Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary.
• Stand or be on your feet for long periods; lift a minimum of 11 lbs to apply pinlocks to fifth wheel pins.
• Foot patrols on a regular basis during shift; may cover other Estee Lauder locations as backfill.
• Other duties as required by client or Site Supervisor.

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required
  
• Monitoring of CCTV equipment
  
• Completing shipping and receiving duties, including shipment audits and trailer inspections.

• Standing or being on your feet for certain lengths of time
  
• Being able to bend down and lift a minimum of 11 Lbs. to apply pinlocks to fifth wheel pins
  
• Foot Patrols on a regular basis during shift
  
• Occasionally be required to cover other Estee Lauder Locations as a Backfill
• Other duties as may be required by the client or Site Supervisor
