Job summary

Paladin Security in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Full-Time Security Officer for 2nd shift. You will patrol both interior and exterior areas, respond to incidents, and coordinate with emergency services when needed.

You must hold a valid Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C, and demonstrate strong English; you must be eligible to work in Canada. The role offers on-site work with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario security license is required.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification is required.
• English language fluency (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Be able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of City of Windsor and the Security policies and procedures with a customer service approach.
• Maintain an open and objective mind, mindful of the city’s diverse community.
• Assist visitors and employees during crises and contact emergency services as needed.
• Ensure the property is safe by maintaining all security measures and alarms.
• Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior) and address policy breeches and facility concerns.
• Investigate security alarms and emergencies promptly to avoid public panic.
• De-escalate crises, provide support, and liaise with police, fire, and paramedics as required.
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.
• Provide first aid and medical response when necessary.
• Maintain positive relations with the client’s staff and external clients with timely support.
• Follow directions from Security Leadership and the client (City of Windsor).
• Perform related duties as assigned by the city.

Key Responsibilities

• Be able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of City of Windsor and the Security policies and procedures with an ability to use a customer service approach
• Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering the city’s diverse community.
• Assist visitors, and employee during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as needed
• Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
• Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols (exterior and Interior), and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
• Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
• Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person
• Maintain positive and constructive relationships with The Client’s staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client; City of Windsor
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the city

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
