Paladin Security is hiring a Security Guard at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, Ontario. The role is full-time with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour and a Saturday-Sunday 07:00-19:00 schedule.

You will patrol the hospital, respond to incidents, assist patients and staff, and support use of force procedures under the Mental Health Act. Requires First Aid & CPR Level C, a High School diploma, immunizations, and willingness to training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
• Immunization records up-to-date (COVID-19, MMR, Rubella, Varicella, TB).
• Willingness to complete N95 mask fit testing on onboarding.
• UOF and MOAB certifications or willingness to participate in Paladin's training.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital interior and exterior areas.
• Respond to security calls and emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Provide compassionate customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
• Escort staff and visitors and assist with basic motor vehicle support.
• Support Use of Force procedures as directed under policy.
• Complete shift logs, incident reports and notebook entries promptly.
• Manage admin tasks such as key distribution, ID badges, lost and found, CCTV reviews.

West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, part of the Hamilton Health Sciences network and affiliated with McMaster University, provides essential hospital, clinical, and specialized healthcare services to the local community. It offers a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality patient care, medical education, and community well-being.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Guard, you will maintain safety and security across the hospital facility through proactive involvement and supportive care. Your daily responsibilities will include:

Conducting routine interior and exterior patrols of hospital buildings and grounds.

Responding promptly and professionally to security calls and emergency incidents.

Providing compassionate customer service to patients, visitors, and staff during high-stress situations.

Assisting staff and visitors with security escorts and basic motor vehicle support when required.

Supporting physical restraint and Use of Force procedures as directed under the Mental Health Act.

Completing detailed shift logs, incident reports, and notebook entries in a timely manner.

Managing administrative tasks such as key distribution, ID badge issuance, lost and found, and CCTV reviews.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.

High School Diploma or GED.

Up-to-date immunization records (COVID-19, Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-step TB skin test).

Willingness to complete N95 mask fit testing during onboarding training.

Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to participate in Paladin's pre-employment training program prior to start.

Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Physical ability to walk, stand, and complete active patrols throughout extended shifts.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

Minimum 1 year of security guard experience in a healthcare setting.

Educational background in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services.
