Paladin Security seeks a dedicated Security Guard to join Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus Access Control team. This full-time, on-site role monitors access, screens visitors and staff, and patrols to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The position offers $22.18/hour with comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, free uniforms, and training on Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB prior to start with a six-month commitment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and manage access to restricted areas and entry points at the hospital.
• Screen visitors, staff, and belongings at checkpoints.
• Conduct routine patrols of hospital grounds and parking areas.
• Greet patients, staff and visitors and provide directions.
• De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Document daily shift activities, incidents, and safety hazards in reports.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and local law enforcement to maintain safety.

Pay Rate: $22.18/hour

Site: Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus Access Control

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1600-0000

Overtime Methodology: Employment Standards Act (ESA)

Site Overview

Windsor Regional Hospital provides essential healthcare services across emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, and mental health care. Security guards on-site manage access control, monitor high-traffic clinical areas, assist during emergencies, and help ensure a secure environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

What You'll Be Doing

Monitor and manage access to restricted areas, including entry points for specialized units such as the mental health ward.

Screen visitors, staff, and belongings at designated checkpoints using manual methods or inspection tools.

Conduct routine patrols of hospital grounds, hallways, patient areas, entrances, and parking lots, including daily facility lock and unlock procedures.

Greet patients, staff, and visitors while providing clear directions and guidance on hospital policies.

De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.

Document daily shift activities, incidents, security breaches, and safety hazards accurately in written reports.

Work directly with hospital clinical staff and local law enforcement to maintain safe site operations.

Enforce hospital protocols and safety guidelines respectfully and consistently.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification (WSIB-approved provider).

Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology.

Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses.

Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a completed two-step TB skin test.

Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications, OR willingness to complete Paladin's free pre-onboarding training program (subject to a 6-month commitment).

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Previous experience in healthcare security or access control environments.
