SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) II
Overview

This is a hybrid position based in Toronto.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Automate functional, API, and integration test cases by developing reusable and maintainable automated scripts.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot issues related to automated and load testing, propose solutions, and enhance existing scripts where needed.
  • Review test results, determine root causes of failures, assess severity and scope, and guide prioritization for resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring quality at every stage of delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on defects, regression test status, and automation progress through Jira and other reporting tools.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and delivering training on test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Maintain clear documentation of automation processes, templates, and best practices while driving process improvements.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams, product owners, and QA peers in Agile environments to define acceptance criteria and testing approaches.
  • Stay updated with technology trends and continuously improve test automation practices.
  • Support functional and regression testing efforts as needed to ensure end-to-end quality.
What You Have
  • 3–7 years of experience in a QA Automation engineering or SDET role.
  • Strong hands-on programming skills in Java for test automation.
  • Proven experience with automated testing tools and practices (e.g., Selenium or similar) and Web Service testing.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and exposure to methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum.
  • Experience with performance/load testing tools and approaches.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (Jira preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of SOA frameworks, processes, strategies, and approaches.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools, and ability to integrate automation into delivery pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
