Job summary
The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of IT School Technician (1.0 FTE Permanent). Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology, the IT School Technician supports the operation and reliability of IT systems across assigned school locations.
The ideal candidate will have an IT degree or diploma, strong customer service and communication skills, and familiarity with MDM platforms, Chrome OS, Windows, and help desk ticketing systems.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with MDM platforms and educational technologies, Chrome OS, and Windows.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to staff and students.
- Manage and document support tickets in the board’s help desk system.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Configure and support devices, software applications, and systems per board standards.
- Participate in system-wide device deployments.
- Collaborate with IT team to meet department goals.
- Support audio, visual, and technical needs of events.
- Contribute to IT projects and stay current with new technologies.
