Job summary

Emterra Group is seeking a Route Supervisor in Barrie to lead drivers, ensure safety, and support municipal contracts. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise routes, train staff, and help maintain high service standards for waste collection operations.

Responsibilities include driver coaching, interview participation, and accident investigations, with a focus on environmental health and safety. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • Preference for waste management experience.
  • Proficiency in pre/post-trip inspections and accident investigations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and meet tight timelines.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) skills.
  • DZ license is an asset; G license required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervising of all drivers and ensuring training and policy implementation.
  • Conduct driver training and performance assessments; address issues with action plans.
  • Support staffing levels; participate in interviews and pre-employment road tests.
  • Track service/driver issues and document required actions.
  • Maintain courteous, prompt, and effective customer relations.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are delivered and adhered to by drivers.
  • Conduct accident investigations involving company vehicles.

We are currently searching for a dynamic, energetic Route Supervisor to join ourteam and support theBarrie.Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be a hands-on supervisor assisting with all aspects of the collection's operations, as well as supporting the needs of municipal contracts.You will develop the skill set to ensure the highest standard of operational excellence and environmental health and safety to ensure our customers attain the best level of service.

Position Description
  • Directing supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training requirements,disciplineand procedural implementation
  • Conducting ongoing observational behaviour assessments/driver training to uncover any performance issues, and creating an action plan tocorrect
  • Working alongside the Operations Manager tomaintainadequate staffing levels, including participating in interviews and pre-employment Road Tests
  • Tracking ongoing service/driver issues and documenting any action required
  • Attaining all the necessary information regarding any issues by maintaining courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations
  • Ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all workers, and reporting any related issues immediately to the Operations Manager
  • Ensuring company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers asneeded
  • Performing Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in trafficaccidents
Skills & Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with Waste Managementexperience
  • Proficiency with performing pre and post trip inspections, as well as accident investigations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to plan, prioritize and execute against tighttimelines
  • Intermediate database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills within a Microsoft environment
  • DZ license an asset
  • (G license required)

Annual Salary: $65,000 - $68,000
