Job summary

Emterra Group is seeking a professional to safely operate Class 1 or 3 vehicles with air brakes for curbside recycling collection in Vernon, BC. The role requires adherence to schedules, vehicle inspections, and clear communication with supervision.

Qualifications

• Class 1 and/or 3 license with air brake endorsement is required.
• Clean driving abstract is required.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience preferred.
• Ability to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Experience in waste/recycling industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Class 1 and/or 3 vehicles (air brakes).
• Follow the collection schedule and route requirements.
• Perform curbside recycling collection per contract standards.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete related paperwork.
• Communicate any concerns or suggestions to supervisor.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

Position Description

• Safe and efficient operation of a Class 1 and / or 3 motor vehicles (with air brakes);
• Conduct all activities according to the collection schedule;
• Perform curbside recycling collection in a manner that meets or exceeds contract requirements;
• Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation;
• Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions; and
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Skills & Qualification

• Requires Class 1 and / or 3 with air brake endorsement;
• Must have clean driver’s abstract;
• Minimum 2 years working experience driving with required license preferred;
• The ability to work overtime on an “as-needed” basis, is required;
• Good command of the English language (both verbal and written); and
• Experience in the waste and recycling industry or similar industry – an asset.
