Job summary

Optima Living in Edmonton is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide to support residents with daily living, mobility, and personal care. You will work under the guidance of nursing leadership to promote comfort, dignity, and independence in a compassionate, resident-centred environment.

The role requires completion of a recognized HCA program, ongoing certification, and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Current CLHA registration with the Alberta board.
• Medication Administration course and annual recertification.
• CPR and First Aid certification maintained.
• Food Safe certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supports care team to meet residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Assists with move-ins/outs, palliative care, and end-of-life support with dignity.
• Documents observations and reports changes promptly to care leadership.
• Responds to call bells and resident requests in a timely manner.
• Assists with dining, mobility, transfers and daily living activities.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in resident rooms and care areas.
