Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Health Care Aide to support residents with daily living activities, mobility, nutrition, and personal care in a compassionate and person-centered environment.

Under the direction of nursing leadership, you will assist with care planning, privacy, safety, and adherence to health regulations, while promoting dignity and independence for residents in our Alberta-based facility.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Maintains a current registration with College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Experience in a residential care or mental health environment is an asset.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Medication Administration course and annual recertification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Support move-ins/outs, palliative care, and end-of-life care with dignity.
• Document observations and report changes to care leadership.
• Respond to call bells and resident requests promptly.
• Replenish supplies and assist with laundry and light housekeeping.
• Administer and document medications according to plans and policies.
• Support dining activities and mobility.
• Communicate resident needs to families and care team.
• Participate in safety, infection control, and quality improvement efforts.
• Support recreation and social activities with residents.
