Job summary

Aspira West Park Crossing Retirement Living is seeking a Resident Attendant in Moose Jaw for a temporary part-time six-week term. The role pays $17.23/hr and offers a 60-hour biweekly schedule.

As a Resident Attendant, you will build relationships with residents and families, provide a range of support options, and contribute to daily health and well-being within a caring team. This position requires a PSW certification or willingness to obtain, and compliance with screening and safety checks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
  • Basic or Standard First Aid
  • Certification in Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Worker, or a 16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must be willing to complete this course within 3 months of start date.
  • Medication Assistance Module; or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position

Responsibilities

  • Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
  • Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignments
  • Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
  • Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments
  • Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the team leader
  • Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service
  • Performing other duties as assigned
