Job summary

Sienna Senior Living’s Barrieview Retirement Residence in Barrie, Ontario invites you to become a Resident Attendant. You will connect with residents, learn their stories, and support daily health and well-being in a fast-paced, compassionate environment.

The role requires at least six months of similar experience, First Aid/CPR, English proficiency, and PSW certification or willingness to complete the required course within three months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
• Current First Aid/CPR training.
• Excellent command of the verbal and written English language skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Certification in Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Worker, or a 16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must be willing to complete this course within 3 months of start date. (for SK homes)
• Personal Support Worker Certificate is preferred.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position.

What you’ll be doing:

What makes you a great fit?

• Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
• Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignments
• Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
• Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments
• Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the team leader
• Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service
• Performing other duties as assigned
