Job summary

Aspira Wildpine retirement Living, part of Sienna Senior Living, seeks an Unregulated Care Provider to support residents with health, safety and daily living needs. You will provide compassionate, high-quality care and assist with medication administration in a team-based setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Personal Service Worker certificate, CPR training, and can work independently or with others in a fast-paced senior living environment in Ottawa, Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Must have Personal Service Worker certificate and CPR training.
  • Experience caring for seniors is preferred.
  • Ability to document resident care accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor changes.
  • Maintain resident records in accordance with policies.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Unregulated Care Provider, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care that supports residents' health, safety, and overall well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

  • Maintaining resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements
  • Administering medications as prescribed and observes changes in condition and reports them to the Director of Wellness

  • Reporting incidents / near misses, illness or problems with residents to the Director of Wellness / General Manager
  • Providing guidance to the Guest Attendants to ensure that care assignments are completed and that changes in residents' needs are reported to the Director of Wellness
  • Maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principles
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What You Need To Know
  • Successful completion of Personal Service Worker certificate program
  • Successful completion of Medication Administration training program provided on site and successful ongoing quarterly evaluation of competencies
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Current CPR training
  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position
