Job summary

A government organization in Canada is seeking an individual for a role focused on analyzing and reporting student enrollment data. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse and collaborative team dedicated to supporting the financial health of public post-secondary institutions. Overview

The Team
The Post-Secondary Finance Unit is a collaborative and knowledgeable team that plays a key role in supporting the financial health and accountability of B.C.’s public post-secondary system. The team values diversity of thought and experience, recognizing that a variety of perspectives strengthens decision-making and policy development. Working together in an inclusive environment, the team ensures that funding, policy and enrollment reporting processes are fair, transparent, and responsive to the diverse needs of institutions and students across the province.

The Role
This role is one of four positions within the well established Funding and Analysis team and contributes to collecting, analyzing, and reporting student enrolment data. The position combines solid analytical expertise with commitment to accurate and clear reporting through the creation and maintenance of large complex data sets. In an inclusive and collaborative environment, the role helps strengthen accountability and promote shared understanding among institutions of student enrolment practices and contexts.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, mathematics or social science field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience, in each of the following areas:
    • Data analysis and conducting qualitative and quantitative research using analytical tools (e.g. MS Excel tables, dashboards, Power Pivot, etc.).
    • Experience interpreting policy or legislation and/or experience applying policy or legislation.
    • Experience analyzing data for variances and trends and recommending options and courses of action.
  • Experience with MS Office applications.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel PivotTable.
  • More than 2 years (within the past 5 years)of related work experience, in one or more of the work experiences listed above.
  • Experience creating, owning and maintaining data sharing channels with external stakeholders in Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience in applying data management policy or standards.

About this Position
